Ground Floor

Dining room

This spacious dining room is the perfect place to relax and celebrate with family and friends! Whether it’s a large group gathering, a family reunion, a special birthday, or any other celebration, this room is perfect for any occasion. It features a large table layout that can accommodate up to 16 people. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and ample seating, this is the ideal dining room for making any special occasion a memorable one.

Lounge

The comfortable lounge is the perfect way to relax and unwind with a large group of friends or family, offering plenty of seating space for everyone to enjoy. The deep south-west facing bay window, high ceilings and traditional features make the room feel light and bright. A 55” smart-tv means you can sit back and chill with a movie and there is plenty of room for conversation and socialising. It is the perfect way to enjoy quality time with your closest friends and family.

Kitchen

Whether you are planning a feast for 16, or just want to make yourself a cuppa this is an ample kitchen for hosting a large group of friends or family. It has a double sink, five-burner gas stovetop, double oven and grill. Also includes a full-sized American style fridge freezer and a dishwasher for easy clean-ups. With this kitchen, you can easily prepare meals for a large group of friends or family and have a great time cooking and enjoying food together.

Storage

If you are bringing outdoor equipment to help you enjoy the Lake District or a pram for the youngest family members we have plenty of storage space. Accessed from the rear of the property, to keep mud away from the front door, there is plenty of space for boots, bikes or paddle boards, plus a washing machine and drying rack.

Games Room

Our indoor games room equipped with a convertible pool table and table tennis setup provides versatile entertainment options for both children and adults, regardless of the weather conditions outside. On rainy days or chilly evenings, the games room becomes a fun indoor retreat where you can test your skill and a have a little friendly competition! Our bookshelves are well-stocked with local interest, fiction, maps and travel books.

Bedrooms

Our flexible bedroom accommodation that sleeps 16, is laid out across the first, second and third floors of the house.

The height of The Tall House allows your gaze to soar across the rooftops for a view that includes Skiddaw, Blencathra, Catbells, Grisedale Pike, and Great Gable. There is a wide, traditionally styled staircase between each floor.

Every bedroom is ensuite, except rooms 7 and 8 which share a shower room and toilet, making it the perfect pent-house suite for family groups. Rooms 2 and 5 can be made up as either twin or king size beds.

All beds will be made up as singles unless you let us know at time of booking that you require the king-size bed.

First Floor

Bedroom 1

King-size bed, spacious en-suite with walk-in shower. Views toward St. John’s Church

Bedroom 2

Twin or King bed. En-suite shower room. Views towards Latrigg Fell.

Bedroom 3

Grand bedroom with king-size bed, high ceilings and deep bay window. En-suite shower room.

Second Floor

Bedroom 4

Single bedroom with ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 5

Twin or King. Views to Latrigg and Skiddaw. Ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 6

King-size bed. Ensuite shower room.

Third Floor

Bedroom 7

Single bed with dormer window and fantastic views of Catbells. Shared shower and toilet with room 8.

Bedroom 8

Large dual aspect family room with King-size bed and two single beds. Amazing views on both sides.
